What tarot is, and what it isn’t

Tarot is a deck of 78 illustrated cards. For centuries people have used its images as a mirror: a way to slow down, look at a question from another side, and notice what they already sense.

A card here offers a perspective, not a verdict. It doesn’t predict the future or decide for you. Take what helps you think more clearly and leave the rest.

We use the traditional Rider–Waite deck with Pamela Colman Smith’s original 1909 art. The Yes or No draw uses its 22 Major Arcana, the cards of life’s larger themes; the full reading draws from all 78 cards.

The 22 Major Arcana

The Major Arcana are the cards of life’s larger themes, from The Fool’s first step to The World’s completion. Each shows its upright keywords and one line of its meaning; a reversed card turns that meaning inward.

Questions

Is the Yes or No reading free?

Yes. One question, one card and its full meaning, free. The full reading gives three cards for Love, Career and Finance: the cards, their names and keywords are free, and the complete interpretation is a one-time $4.99.

How is my card chosen?

The shuffle and your choice are the ritual. When you choose, our server draws a card at random and records it before it turns over, so the card you see is never changed afterwards.

What does a reversed card mean?

Each card has an even chance of landing upside down, as in a real shuffle. A reversed card often points to energy that is turned inward, delayed or still forming. A reversed Yes card reads as “Not yet.”

Do you keep my question?

For a Yes or No draw, your question stays on your device. We don’t send it or store it. For a full reading, your question is stored encrypted with your three cards, because The Thread uses it. Unpaid full readings are deleted after 7 days.

What does the complete reading include?

Each of your three cards read for its place, upright or reversed; The Thread, a combined reading of your cards and your question; 12 questions to the reader; a PDF; and a private link for 365 days. It is a one-time $4.99, not a subscription.

Can tarot tell me what will happen?

No. Tarot is a tool for reflection, not a prediction or professional advice. For health, legal or money decisions, please talk to a qualified professional.
